Land for Growing Vegetables

God's favor and blessings continue to flow to these children and this Bridge of Love orphanage.
We rejoice as a landowner has agreed to lease an acre of land for $145 for three years which will enable them to grow beans and vegetables to feed the children and grow Napier grass to feed the cow that God provided earlier this month. The landowner was very generous as this is half the price of what would typically be charged for leasing of an acre of land. God has provided for the purchase of this land, and they are hoping to be able to clear, prepare the land, and plant beans by the end of the month.
The projected labor and expenses of this are below:
  • Clearing, uprooting present sugarcane and 1st digging - $100 for labor
  • 2nd and 3rd digging - $80 for labor
  • Planting of beans - $50 for labor
  • Planting materials - $100
  • Fencing the land - $100
  • Labor for fencing - $40
  • Labor for planting - $50
God is moving on people's hearts and His love and blessings are flowing as He cares for these children and meets their needs. We are humbled to be a part of His plan of blessing and the unfolding of His miracles of grace in these children's lives. It is JESUS in us and through us that they are experiencing as God blesses and provides for them. We PRAISE and REJOICE in His GOODNESS!
Please consider your support in this ministry effort of touching these children's lives with His love.

With your help and prayers this 1 acre farm land for the orphanage has been cleared, the 2nd and 3rd digging completed, and the fencing is finished, and the planting of the beans is complete. God Provides a Cow

"For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills."
Ps 50:10

Our Father God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and He has provided the orphanage and these children with one! He is SO faithful!
"Commit your way to the Lord, trust Him and He will do it."
(Ps 37:5)

A week ago the only cow that the orphanage had that supplied the children with milk died, and the children were very upset and crying out from their hurting hearts, especially the young boy that milked the cow everyday. I was able to pray with the Pastor of the orphanage and encourage him to encourage the children in this difficult time. God's LOVE lifted them and gave them the oil of joy for their spirit of mourning. They rose up out of their grief and praised God and worshiped Him in joy at their church service the next day. Within a couple days the Lord began lining things up through Glory of Zion International Ministries to provide them the provisions for a new cow. We praise God for this. She is a young healthy cow that is a good milk
producer and has just recently delivered a calf. Although the orphanage won't be taking the calf, the Lord has blessed them with the mother cow and they are renaming her "Glory" and the children are enjoying the milk.  Glory to God for He is a faithful Provider!

Prayer Request: Starting this next week Kenya will be experiencing the El Nino rains which are the worst rain ever and the government is warning the people to be prepared for this rain. The orphanage is asking for prayer that during this heavy rain the walls of the new dormitory that is yet to be completed are not effected.

We praise God for His provision and faithfulness as we continue to share testimonies of God's goodness and faithfulness during this journey with Him in serving these children. We ask you to continue to pray for these children and for us as we serve them, and to please consider your financial support in helping to provide better lives for these children with your gifts of love and support.

God's Faithful Provisions

We praise God for His faithfulness as He faithfully met the needs of the children for their school fees and for the needs of the 3 new orphans that came in during the summer that needed uniforms, shoes and warmer clothes as the fall season approached. The children are all so grateful to be back in school again. It is their joy and delight to learn and grow. They have excelled in their school work in the past and we trust they will continue in these good study habits.

The challenge they face now is in rising above their grieving as the cow that they had that supplied them with milk for their porridge died this last weekend. The children were so saddened and in tears about this, especially the young boy that milked the cow everyday. They are working through their grief and have sent some small notes to us asking for prayer and help. As we share these notes from the children below, please join us in prayer for the Lord to turn their mourning into joy, and supply them with another cow for milk. Most of us cannot relate to this poverty and need, because we are blessed with so much. I pray that your hearts are touched, and will support these children and this orphanage as they make their lives a little happier and healthier. God bless you.

Sharing Their Home, Duties & Gratitude

The children at the orphanage want to say "Hi and Thank You".

The 16 children at the Kisii Orphanage want to share with you some of their daily activities in caring for their home at the orphanage and for one another, and say thank you for your support and invite you to continue to help them with their schooling and bringing other children into the orphanage.

With the help of the Pastor and his wife they have a garden that they've
planted and tend to regularly that helps supply some of their food.
They carry buckets of water from the well.
and clean and tend to the compound.

The children have a great love, devotion and appreciation for one another and for ALL that God is doing in their lives. Many have lost both their parents through sickness and disease and other tragedies, and the remaining family members are too poor to care for them. These children are grateful for the love and mercy that God has shown them through the hearts of the Pastor and his wife who have take them in under their wings to care for them and are giving them a new chance at life through this orphanage and the support of others.
By God's grace these 16 children have been able to attend various schools according to their different ages and are trusting God once again to provide for their school fees of $800 for this new fall term that starts Sept 1st.
It is a great work and responsibility that this Pastor and the leadership of this orphanage have taken on to care for these children along with their own two small children, and they desperately need our prayers and support.

They have a vision to help many more children and have completed the foundation and walls for a 2nd dormitory to house an additional 34 orphans that would make this Kisii Orphanage house a total of 50 orphans. The new dormitory still needs a roof to complete it before others can be brought in, and then we will need God's abundant provision to provide for the food, clothing, medical needs and education of all these children. We can't help and house ALL the orphans in the world, but we can help some, and we are reaching out to you to help us in this kingdom cause.

The children are saying:
"Thank you to our supporters for your help to make
our lives better here."

Vera speaks for all the children as she says:
"We pray that God to bless you so that you can help us to
finish this building for our comfortable."

God said,
"Defend the weak and the fatherless,
maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed,
rescue the weak and needy,
deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
Ps 82:3,4

"If you make sure that the hungry and oppressed
have all that they need,
then your light will shine in the darkness,
and even your bleakest moments will be bright as a clear day."

Praise Report and Update on Dormitory

Praise Report!:
God is so good. In this last month 3 of the children in the orphanage have been taken into the home and care of the Pastor's uncle. He has prepared his home for them and is placing them in some better schools as well. The children are very happy with this new move and we are all very happy for them as well. This opened 3 spots for 3 new orphans to come into the orphanage. There is a waiting list so this was quickly taken care of. One of the new orphans had been living with his grandfather that had passed away just a couple weeks prior to this. The young boy was living alone in the house and had gotten very sick and vomiting blood when the Pastor was notified and quickly went to his rescue. The boy, Dan, was taken to the hospital and treated for severe malaria and has been released. He is getting stronger and very happy to be with his new home and orphanage family. We praise God for this timely rescue and healing. These children need our prayers.

Update on Dormitory:
The foundation has been laid and the walls have been completed and paid for. The next phase of the building is the roof. The Pastor and leadership of the orphanage have gotten a quote from a reputable builder and supplier in the area, and what is needed and we are believing God for in this is $5,186. Please join us in prayer for this amount and next phase.

Supplies needed for new roof:
Timber (2x4 and 2x3) - $1436
Sheets (metal and plain) - $2478
Supplies (roofing nails & rubber, walfast and ridges) - $800
Labor - $472
TOTAL:  $5,186

The Heart of This Ministry

Jesus laid His life down in LOVE to be a bridge of redemption.....a bridge of love, grace, and healing to the Father. That's what WE are to do and BE. As His Body we are to carry on His ministry here on earth....laying our lives down for one another in LOVE to be a "Bridge of Love" back to the Father, to be His Bridge of Love and healing, and a supply line that the Father may bless others through.
He is a Father to the fatherless, and Jesus said, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers you do to me." When we serve these children we are serving Him.

THIS is the heart of this ministry to these children....to BE His Bridge of Love so that they may see, know, and experience God's love.

Water Purification System

This week we were in immediate need of a water purification system and tablets. One of the children had contacted typhoid and a malaria threat was at hand with all the heavy rains in the area. We needed $300 for this water puification system ASAP.
Praise Report! God has provided for the water purification system for this orphanage. It consists of 4 of these purification bottles and tablets. God is faithful to care for these children, and He uses the hearts of His people and Body.
The builder and supplier of the new dormitory agreed to postpone this week's payment of $140 to enable us to meet this immediate need for the children. Love takes sacrifice and obedience and we need both of these to help these children. God's grace is sufficient and His LOVE never fails. Blessings!

Progress of New Dormitory

God has continued to bless miraculously so we can move forward on this building project of the new dormitory. We have found favor with the builder and supplier to pay the remaining $756 in labor and supplies out at $140/week as he moves on with the construction. The rains there in Kisii have threatened to weaken the established foundation, so it has been important for us to move forward as soon as possible to get the walls up. It's an honor and a privilege to be a part of and to sow into this kingdom work.
The poor, the orphan, and the fatherless are on God's heart, and Jesus said, "Whatsoever you do to the least of My brothers you do to Me." When we help these children have a home, protection, covering, food, and education we are doing this to Jesus. We are His hands, His arms, His feet, His mouthpiece. We are His bridge of love to these children.
Please consider being apart, and sowing into this kingdom work to help more children feel His love and have a home.

Updates on Orphanage & Local Church

This is Lilian, our newest orphan that's come into the orphanage after
Ruth was adopted a week ago. Lilian is 11 yrs old and she is in the 5th grade.
Her parents died from an illness. She is now being surrounded with love by the
other children as well as the Pastor and leadership of the orphanage, and she is enrolled and attending
school again. We are so thankful that God has provided a way
for another little child to find a home a family and a future through this orphanage.

Here are some video clips sent from the Pastor of a corporate gathering of 3 of the churches that he has been ministering to over the last 3 months. Three of the congregations joined together in a fellowship hall to worship and fellowship together. The Lord gave the Pastor an assignment to travel and reach out to these other churches and begin to nurture them in the Lord.

the Pastor and the orphanage as he expressed his sincere gratitude for
all that we have done for his grandson.

Praise Reports!

We have a praise report on three of our precious children at the Kisii orphanage.

Jas (7 yrs) and Esther (12 yrs) did their mid-term examination at school and both of them took the first position in their classes. We are all SO excited for this, and we thank God for making all these things possible for them. They are precious. They love school and work hard at their studies. At their request we are sending them some text books and revision book as a gift to better their performance.
All the children are doing well in school and it is exciting to hear when they are leading and excelling in their school work.

Also Ruth (15 yrs) has stolen the heart of her teacher who has begun sending in support for her as well as making the steps to adopt her completely into his family. What an exciting thing that God is doing in her life. This is completing the cycle of this orphanage.....bringing them into their orphanage family to love and care for them, and then if God wills, connecting them to a family that will fully adopt them as their own.  God's LOVE is there for them at every level and step, and it is a great privilege to be apart of their lives and partner together to make it happen for them.

We thank you for your prayers and support. We are continuing to raise the funds for their monthly food, medical and clothing needs, the new upcoming school term, as well as for improvements on the kitchen facilities and the new dormitory so that we can bring other children into the orphanage. There is a waiting list. So many children need help. Please consider supporting this kingdom cause if you haven't already. God will bless you and you will be greatly enriched by it.

Improvement Needs for Kitchen Facility

The orphanage is in immediate need for improvement of the kitchen facilities as there has been an outbreak of Cholera in the Kisii county. Precautions have been taken as to not be effected by the disease and a new water tank has been purchased so that rain water can be collected and treated. However the kitchen they have now is just a shed, and it needs to be cemented and blocked to avoid contamination of foods that are prepared for the children which would require the purchase of cement, a door, two windows, some shelves for storage of cooking materials and hiring a builder at the total cost of $280.
Below are pictures of the present kitchen facility that is in need of improvements. Please consider your support and help in this need. Blessings!
